Hp Pavilion Sound Fades

So, my Vista designed computer is running Windows 10 like a champ with one exception. There is no sound. The speakers and sound drivers all say they're up to date. I've followed the hp forum's suggestion of adding Windows 7 drivers, and that solved a fewof the problems like display and speed. I can't figure out why there is no sound.

Most of the new stuff I want to use in Windows 10 requires sound to work properly.By the way, I should mention that Vista is still installed (32 bit) and I dual boot with Windows 10 (64 bit). Also, Microsoft's programmers are idiots and want me to say this is about upgrade reservations. It has nothing to with that. It's just the onlytopic for Windows 10 allowed to be discussed here. Hi Mat,Welcome to Microsoft Community.I understand that you have an issue with the sound in Windows 10.

So, I'm on build 10162. I have had problems with every build except the first one, was it 9879? Anyway, I was able to fix it in one previous build, the one right before 10049.

In that build, I installed the correct graphics and coprocessor drivers and itfixed the problem. Since then, the fix no longer works. I have fixed every issue but sound.I'm not sure how a clean install will help. That will unfix all the fixes I made, without installing the correct drivers.

I will try the compatibiity mode tomorrow, though. Just in case you got to my part of this forum I have your solution PS my Windows Vista comp is also running windows 10 like a Champ!! I tried everything under the sun I went to HPs Website, Microsoft, AMD for my graphics card and still nothing. Afteran extremely upset walk to the store to get something to drink to calm my nerves(AMP Mtn Dew hahaha) I come back and found this thread and thought okay this might work:). ); of course this was not any help with my issue although it was very insightfuland it did steer me towards the solution. I had this problem with windows 8 before what did i do??? It hit me so with hope i restarted my computer for the 10th maybe 11th time and when the hp blue screen flashes before the windows screen i hit f10 for theDOS setup menu.

Wait for it wait for it:) I tabbed over through the menus until i found the audio settings and the onboard audio seting was set to 'Auto' switched it to 'Enabled' and booooooom Audio fixed. Hope this helps you sleep better at night i knowi will!! 1 for the good guys, guess I'm alittle more nerd than i give myself credit for. Time to disturb the peace.
